The Surveillance 4.4 Release

This release bolsters Bradmark's continuing development of its premier performance monitoring solution for enterprise system management, enabling our customers to cost-effectively maintain unprecedented performance and reliability.

Below highlights key enhancement of Surveillance DB™ version 4.4 for Win32, AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, Tru64, and HP-UX Itanium.

Database Platform Support

Surveillance now supports the latest versions of:

  • Support for SAP ASE 16.0 SP2 and later
  • Support for SAP IQ 16, IQ 16 SP01 and later
  • Support for SAP RS 15.7 SP100 and later
  • Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2012

New Surveillance Alert Actions

Alerting has been expanded with several new actions, which provide more information, more flexibility, and new ways to integrate with existing infrastructure:

  • Console Script
Run scripts like you would run in Surveillance command-line console.  Used to turn on additional stores to gather more detailed information in response to an alert condition (i.e. process 123 is using too much CPU, so start a store and pass the ID=123 argument).

  • HTTP Request
Allows you to call a web service, such as a web-based ticketing system, by telling Surveillance to fetch a URI.  The nsmhttp executable is also available for the command-line.

  • SMS
Send an SMS in Surveillance by email, by HTTP, and by SMPP.  Refer to your SMS gateway provider for more information on how to integrate through these protocols.

Parameterized Stores

Repository some data from parameterized collections, such as those in detail windows, into the local stores.  Once data for a parm store is collected, then flashback becomes available on the detail windows that use those parms.  The data can also be exported to the Central Repository.

Embedded Web Server The Surveillance Server includes an embedded web server, which can be used to transfer nsmcopy archives (that you create manually) and other files between servers.

Generate Reports via Crystal Reports 2010

The Surveillance ReportViewer now uses the standard Crystal Reports 2010 runtime, providing more choices for design tools to modify or create custom reports from the Central Repository.
