Bradmark
Announces the Release of Surveillance 4.1
SYNOPSIS:
Building on its offering of premier, third-party monitoring
tools, this release of Bradmarks Surveillance contains
major enhancements that bolster Bradmarks position as the
leading provider of database monitoring and management solutions.
HOUSTON,
Texas May 12, 2008 Bradmark Technologies, Inc.,
an established provider of enterprise monitoring and database
administration tools, today announces the upcoming release
of Surveillance version
4.1, which includes major enhancements to improve performance
and reliability when monitoring Sybase, Oracle, DB2 UDB and
MS SQL Server environments. Version 4.1 highlights major new
features including Enterprise Deployment, Standard Stores,
Sybase® Adaptive Server® Enterprise (ASE), Windows
Vista support, and much more.
Bradmarks Surveillance helps us visualize Sybase statistics, making
it easier to pickup on periods of heavy usage by end users, said Denzil
Sander, product manager, B.I. Practice in South Africa. Surveillance is
one of those products we needed a long time ago. Having one set of tools that
can address monitoring and performance across our database environment was a
primary reason that we chose Bradmark. A business intelligence and data
warehousing solutions provider, BI Practice helps organizations transform the
quality and intelligence of their business information to achieve optimum business
performance.
For large,
complex installations, Enterprise Deployment provides a
simple, standard way to deploy Surveillance on many machines
so organizations
can now be up and running more quickly. The Standard Stores
feature allows DBAs to start collecting historical data
immediately, so that the Surveillance Flashback feature can
be used to diagnose
recent database problems. Surveillance 4.1 also provides
enhancements for Sybase ASE, including support for Query Metrics
that helps
the DBA to diagnose SQL performance bottlenecks; and the
Surveillance client now supports the latest Windows Vista operating
system.
Bradmark works closely with the Sybase user community to determine what
the community needs for modern enterprise monitoring tools, said Sumit
Kundu, senior director of product management, Sybase, Inc. New features
released in Surveillance 4.1 reflect Bradmarks community-driven approach
that helps extend its position as a recommended vendor for monitoring and event
management technology for Sybase ASE, Replication Server, Mirror Activator and
Sybase IQ, which are all key products that implement Sybases Unwired Enterprise
strategy.
Surveillance
is a real-time monitoring tool capable of overseeing the entire
database environment with drill-down capability
for quick problem identification. With Surveillance, a database
administrator can view real-time performance data without
writing scripts, reducing the need for a large, skilled staff
to trace problems. Surveillance installs in minutes and,
once configured, you can begin monitoring right away.
Version
4.1 demonstrates Bradmarks commitment to broadening
and deepening the support for Surveillance customers, said
Brad Tashenberg, CEO, Bradmark Technologies, Inc. With
this new functionality, Bradmark also demonstrates the
ability to deliver timely and functionally rich value to
our customers.
Surveillance
has an extensive alerting facility that comes with a large
set of pre-defined collections, rules, and stores.
Right out of the box, the Surveillance can be easily set
up to notify multiple DBAs by e-mail, pager, alerts to HP
OpenView or Tivoli, pop-up windows, or messages in the Windows
Event Log. The DBA can also execute a fix-it job by executing
any operating system script or executable, including SQL*Plus
and ISQL. The flexible agent architecture allows users to scale to any
size configuration and simultaneously monitor multiple database
instances from multiple database vendors. With Surveillance,
users can monitor their entire Sybase environment from either
a single or multiple console configurations with an intuitive
graphical user interface.
