Bradmark
rolls out its latest version of Surveillance for Sybase
HOUSTON,
TX June 12, 2006 Bradmark Technologies, Inc.,
an established provider of data management solutions, today
announces the general availability of Surveillance
for Sybase version
3.0.4. Key enhancements include: Sybase MDA table monitoring,
ASE 15 native support, Windows Event Log Monitoring, Windows
Service Monitoring, Enhanced User Defined Collections and much
more.
Surveillance for Sybase is the first comprehensive and cross-functional set
of monitoring tools that satisfies all of an organizations data management
needs across an entire Sybase installation and beyond. Surveillance for Sybase
real-time monitoring tools, which include Surveillance DB for Sybase ASE, Surveillance
IQ for Sybase IQ and Surveillance RS for Sybase Replication Server have all
been built from the ground up by one development team, and the unique agent-based
architecture is suited to any size implementation.
Surveillance 3.0.4 demonstrates Bradmark's commitment to providing
top tier monitoring solutions for the Sybase ASE database marketplace," said
Raj Rathee, ASE product manager, Sybase. "Sybase ASE has established
itself as one of the most cost-effective data management platforms
for business-critical computing and the new Bradmark offering will
complement ASE's capabilities."
As shipped, Surveillance contains a comprehensive set of pre-defined rules
that can easily be configured to warn DBAs of impending performance and availability
issues on ASE databases across the enterprise. Surveillance continues to offer
support for a wide range of ASE versions (11.0 through 15) and supports utilizing
Monitor Server and DBCC access to the monitor counters for environments where
the MDA tables are not installed or available.
A central
history database provides a repository from which historical
reports can be produced for after-the-fact performance analysis
and troubleshooting, as well as capacity planning for all monitored
databases on the network. This new release simplifies Sybase
ASE database management by providing insightful views of performance
indicators with drill-downs to the process and executing SQL
level for root cause analysis, said Tom Callaghan, Bradmarks
Vice President of Product Development.
Surveillance
has an extensive alerting and alarming facility that can be easily
set up to notify multiple DBAs by e-mail, pager, HP Openview
or Tivoli alerts, pop-up windows, or record the alert message
in the Windows Event Log. The DBA can also execute a fix-it script
or operating system program, including ISQL. The flexible agent
architecture allows you to scale to any size configuration and
simultaneously monitor multiple database instances from multiple
database vendors. With Surveillance, you can monitor your entire
Sybase environment from either a single or multiple console configurations
with an intuitive graphical user interface.
